Is there a (Java) "Hello World" example?

Is there a (Java) "Hello World" example?

As we have all learned over the years, there has only ever been one shell script written from scratch and every other script since then has been an edit of the original. :-)

Can you (Zach [who likely has his hands full] or someone) post sample complete Java program to, for example, "start a device playing Preset 1" ?

    Hi dlluner!

Example code is something we do want to get to, though (as you surmised) we're not quite there yet in terms of us providing it directly.

In the meantime, if anyone else in the community reading this has a Java example, I'd encourage you to share it here! I know I've seen some reference implementations/libraries on GitHub, but I haven't seen a Java one yet.

    Hi,

I made an android app for controlling my SoundTouch device, using Volley (HTTP library for Android, see https://github.com/google/volley).
If you are interested I can paste some code here.

    Hey dlluner,

I don't have a java example on hand right now, but I've done this in several different languages. All you need is an HTTP library and then learn how the library makes "GET" and "POST" requests.

If I get some time, I can write up a quick java example.
